2021 Grammys Delayed due to COVID-19

The 63 annual Grammy Award Show was set to air on Jan. 31, 2021, but with concerns for Los Angeles’s health worsening due to the COVID-19 virus, Recording Academy executives decided it would be best to postpone the show.

Currently Los Angeles “is one of the biggest hubs for the virus in the nation“ MTv News reported. Approximately every 15 minutes, 1 person dies from the COVID-19 virus.

The postponement was confirmed on both the Rolling Stone and the Variety on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.

This year the show was not permitting a live audience, and only performers and presenters were to be allowed on site.

The Grammys have officially been rescheduled to March 14, 2021 by The Recording Academy.
