Column: Too early for Christmas?

Column: Too early for Christmas?

Halloween is dead to me. I’m ready to put up my Christmas tree and get holly jolly, yet there are some people hesitate because there is Thanksgiving right in the middle.

Trust me, I plan to make several plates of food and tell my family how thankful I am for them, but what is the harm in having my Christmas tree up while doing so?

Thanksgiving music doesn’t exist so what am I supposed to play while my grandpa scarfs down three yeast rolls? Am I expected to sit and enjoy chewing ASMR? Absolutely not.

My TV is going to be on the yule log, my speakers are going to be blasting Brenda Lee’s “Rockin Around the Christmas Tree” and I’m going to be full of turkey this Thanksgiving.

No one is hurt by the singing of a Christmas carol, throwing on an ugly Christmas sweater, or even whipping out the garland.

Remember that there is enough hate in the world to not let people enjoy Christmas, even if it is early.
