Pacers score a win on first home game
The USC Aiken women’s basketball team won its first home game against Southern Wesleyan on Wedsnesday evening with an 82-56 victory.
Kwajelin Farrar took the top spot with an impressive team-high of 20 points in the game.
Melyk Toauil followed with a total of 16 points, with eight rebounds and a game-best six assists. Teammate Alex Canady accounted for 11 points, six boards, four steals and four assists.
Rikoya Anderson came off of the bench to tally 10 points and a game-high nine rebounds in 25 minutes of work for the Pacers.
Chesney Gardner’s free throw at the 5:32 mark extended the advantage to 50-30, with the Pacers never looking back as they continued to hit the net, leading by 25.
For the game the Pacers controlled the paint the entire time, outscoring the opposition 38-16. USCA hit 28-of-64 with a percentage of 43.8 percent from the floor, including seven-of-22 (31.8 pecent) from downtown. The Pacers out-rebounded the Warriors 49-31, with the team sharing the ball and dishing out 22 assists on the 28 field goals.
The Pacers will play against Paine on Tuesday, Nov. 25, with the game starting at 6 p.m.
