Restaurant Review: Mellow Mushroom
With my roommate’s 21st birthday being on a Sunday we knew that the proper thing to do would be to go out to a family brunch. She wanted to go to a fancy restaurant since this was her birthday celebration but since none of the ones she liked offered bottomless mimosas, we went with Mellow Mushroom.
I’ve been to Mellow Mushroom in Downtown Aiken a couple of times and always have positive experiences. My servers are always great, the food is great and the atmosphere itself is nice to be in. This time was no different minus the fact that the pizza that I enjoyed the last time I visited was no longer available on the updated menu.
Our server handled our table of five with ease and was very fun to be around! The bottomless mimosas had a cap of six which was very reasonable for the price of $12.99. At the Bee Lane location, they’re available from 11 am-2 pm.
I ordered a small pizza and made it half Pacific Rim, a spicy twist on a classic Hawaiian, and half Holy Shiitake Pie, which is mushroom and garlic filled. I preferred the Pacific Rim and wish I’d gotten a larger-sized pizza so that I could have more of it.
Two of my friends ordered wings and after sampling both flavors I can honestly say that more people should be talking about the wings there. They tasted very smoky and we were all able to tell that they were well marinated.
