Album Review - Nevermind
Nirvana has been a classic for many people from all generations as they brought great entertainment to all through their alternative rock style. They brought out great songs from each album, but their album Nevermind is a popular one of theirs.
Their song “Smells Like Teen Spirit” is a classic that many people have heard at least once because of its popularity. The song has this chaos to it that becomes parallel to that teenage spirit, always causing trouble but making the most of everything around to have fun with it all.
There is also the song “Come As You Are” “ another well-known song from the album. The band notes that the lyrics are contradicting one another, purposefully being made confusing, which helps make it show that coming as you are, like the title of the song, can be confusing in a variety of ways but to still be yourself. The repetition of the word ‘Memoria,’ which means relating to memories, can be seen as having thoughts about who we were in our memories and comparing it to who we are now.
The album brought songs that stay relevant over thirty years later because the popularity of Nirvana helped them skyrocket, not to mention them crafting their songs for that audience of listeners who want to just scream a bit sometimes. They made songs that have become classics that many people look back to today to admire their craft and how they built these albums that just soared to become a staple in our personal music library.
