Athlete of the Month: Megan Gettys

Gettys is a freshman Exercise Sports Science Major who is a real strong point for the Women’s Soccer Team. While she is a Louisiana native, she chose USC Aiken not only for scholarship opportunity but because she felt a connection with the school.

She’s been playing soccer since she was four years old and has been in love with it ever since. Her ultimate career goal is to play soccer overseas but also has a backup plan to become an orthopedic surgeon.

When asked about her favorite memory from this season thus far she stated:

“This last game we just played against Georgia College. We had 32 seconds left on the clock and Montes got fouled and I took the kick and scored the winning goal.” -Megan Gettys

Overall the Women’s Soccer Team has been making a big impact this season.
