Bongos Song Review

Cardi B released a song featuring Megan Thee Stallion titled “Bongos” on Sep. 8, 2023, at midnight. This is Cardi B’s first song that she released since “Hot Sh*t” with rappers Lil Durk and Kanye West. This is also Megan Thee Stallion’s first song since her infamous court trial with rapper Tory Lanez.

The two artists rap on a Latin beat and the visuals are very bright and colorful. Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion both executed the choreography amazingly. Unfortunately, the actual song was not as impressive as the music video.

I feel like the song was another version of “WAP” but with a Latin beat to it. Cardi B’s verse was subpar and just gave us the same raunchy lyrics about being sexual prowess and how rich she is. Megan Thee Stallion’s verse was a bit better than Cardi B’s but it was also repetitive.

Overall, I would rate the song a five out of 10 and the music video a ten out of ten.
