Summer Trends Recap ‘23
When you hear “Summer 2023” what trends come to mind?
AI? Bubble slides? Monochrome? Blonde eyebrows? These are just a few of the trends that have been very popular this summer season of 2023. Today I will be discussing some of the most popular trends that have been blowing up around the media.
The first trend began through TikTok called the “no makeup” makeup look. This makeup glam was and still is a popular trend, especially in this hot weather. The overall goal of this look is just like it says in the title “no makeup” makeup. This routine should only take up to 15-20 minutes and some makeup artists have even done this look under 10 minutes. It consists of concealer, mascara, blush and a few more products to achieve a makeup-less makeup look.
Stepping into the fashion side one pair of bottoms that have been popular in the fashion industry are parachute pants. Famous model Bella Hadid had a huge impact on parachute pants becoming more trendy as she wore them during her off-duty days.
Still on the fashion side, the next trend is denim. Although many people were very skeptical about denim on denim it really grew over this summer! People step out of their comfort zones creating looks with different denim apparel.
Going into hairstyles I believe we can all agree on this next trend curtain bangs. This throwback 70s hairstyle has made a comeback into style and has been spreading across the media. With its versatility for many hair textures, it has over 3 billion views on TikTok from Glamour magazine.
Next up is the color of the summer season this year. Pink, this color has been popping up in the fashion industry and even the movie industry. One famous movie that has been in the media all summer long is The “Barbie” Movie. The whole theme of the movie is pink and viewers come dressed in pink from head to toe.
This last trend is a Y2K throwback. Duck nails have been making a reappearance in the nail tech business. These nails were a part of the early 2000s Mcbling era and were called duck nails because of their odd but fascinating shape. It comes in different styles such as zebra print, cheetah print and many more designs. Many celebrities have been following along with this trend such as artists Lizzo and Ice Spice.
Although there are dozens of other trends from this summer season these are a few of the ones populating the media overall.
