The final cast list for the first show of the semester is here! These actors and actresses chosen for the roles will be performing “Exit, Pursued by a Bear” on October 6th through the 9th where they will be performing in the O’Connell Theatre which is located inside the Etherredge Center. The show will be an ICE Event so make sure to put it down in your calendars!

The show will be a comedy with some darker themes so keep in mind if you are not comfortable with some themes. The cast has been placed in roles that fit them and will be a joy to see the result when performed. The director of the show is Paul Crook, one of the theatre professors here and the titular actor Morrie from “Tuesdays with Morrie” which was performed last Spring. He will be working with the actors and actresses in this show to ensure there is an amazing performance with these talented people.

Aside from their main show this semester, the theatre is working to put on a set of short ten-minute plays called Experimental Relief. Each show has a student director looking to get experience in directing and to provide new students with experience in acting for the shows. The auditions will be held on September 12th and 13th starting at 6 pm. If you are not interested in acting for the shows but are still interested in being involved, they are also looking for help backstage to help with props, setting up lights and other tasks to get prepared for the shows which you can sign up for there.

Theatre this semester has many plans, so keep an eye out for all they put on this semester and make sure to go to UTP Meetings which are held the last Thursday of each month and start at 5:15 pm if you have any interest in being involved!
