HelloFresh Review

HelloFresh Review

HelloFresh is a meal delivery service kit that takes the thinking out of dinner! Every week a menu of 30-50 meals is available for users to choose from.

HelloFresh has tons of options for everyone! There are vegetarian/ vegan options each week as well as cuisine from many different cultures. This is a great way to branch out and try something new as well as learn how to cook a vast array of food.

I have been trying HelloFresh for a little over a month and absolutely love it! Since I am a college student that works 4-5 days a week, grocery shopping and meal planning can get pretty difficult personally. Now instead of eating fast food every night or letting my groceries go bad, I have fresh meal kits ready to cook!

Each recipe gives you pre portioned ingredients, so you do not have to worry about anything going bad. Each box includes a recipe card for each meal that spells out exactly how to cook. The meals typically take 20-45 minutes depending on the difficulty of the meal.

Typically for five meals with two servings the bill is $91.90 and then $10.99 for shipping. This breaks down to about $8-9 per meal. This has been saving me so much money. When going to the grocery store for one recipe I usually end up spending almost $40 to get all of the ingredients that I need, which leads to a surplus of ingredients that end up going bad in my fridge. This is also cheaper and healthier than buying fast food!

HelloFresh is also good for the environment. All of the packaging is recyclable and the company has recently reduced the amount of packaging for each order to reduce waste with each order. HelloFresh also reduces food waste, which is important to reduce individual carbon footprints.

Upon signing up there is always some kind of discount available to try out the product like $65 off of the first box + free shipping. Other discount codes are easily available through different coupon websites like Couponpac.

Each meal that I have tried so far has been really tasty! Some of my favorites have been:

  • Steakhouse- Style Chicken: Chicken with a creamy pan sauce, roasted potatoes and lemon broccoli

  • Turkey Bulgogi Bowls: Turkey bulgogi with carrots, pickled cucumbers and sriracha crema

  • Gouda Vibes Burgers: Burgers with tomato onion jam and potato wedges

  • Brown Sugar Bourbon Chicken: Chicken with apple pan sauce, mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts

HelloFresh also offers premium meals each week that cost a little bit more per portion depending on the meal like pesto shrimp and lobster filled ravioli.

Overall, I definitely recommend trying this out if you struggle with making weekly grocery store trips, meal planning, or budgeting out groceries.
