Dorm Dash: Ranch roasted chickpeas

Dorm Dash: Ranch roasted chickpeas

The best snacks to keep you satiated and focused through class should have protein and carbohydrates, which is why roasted chickpeas are one of the best things to prep for your snacks throughout the week. Chickpeas contain the nutrients to keep you fueled during your busy school day, and you can make this recipe in a variety of ways. Today, I’ll show you one of my personal favorite variations of this recipe – ranch flavored! You can make this recipe in an oven or an air fryer.

Ingredients:

• 1 can of chickpeas

• 3 tablespoons ranch seasoning (I like the Hidden Valley packets)

• 1-2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.

  2. Drain and rinse chickpeas.

  3. Dry chickpeas thoroughly. The key to getting the chickpeas crispy is making sure you dry them really well. Get rid of any husks that have fallen loose from the chickpeas during this step.

  4. Place chickpeas on a baking sheet and drizzle olive oil to coat them.

  5. Season chickpeas with ranch seasoning and mix until evenly coated with ranch seasoning and oil.

  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes depending on your oven.

  7. When the chickpeas come out of the oven, they should be crispy and golden brown.

  8. Let chickpeas cool for a few minutes and enjoy! You can store leftovers in an airtight container to enjoy as a snack throughout the week. These also make a great topping for salads.

If you are using an air fryer: Air fry at 425 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
