Gallery: International flair on intramural sports
The intramural tennis tournament started on Tuesday night and Wednesday night matches were washed out with heavy rains.
Karin Blas, from Poland, a former USCA tennis team player before the program was dropped last year, traveled from St. Thomas Aquinas College in New York where she is a senior, majoring in sports management and public administration, to coach USCA’s Saleh Brinji , from Saudi, Arabia.
Brinji, a junior and business management major, remained undefeated for the first two games because competitors failed to show up.
Melvin Archie Jr., a freshman mathematics middle level education major, was called in early to compete and triumphed after beating Brinji 8 to 6. Archie now moves on to compete in an elimination bracket.
