Mens's soccer team honors graduating seniors
During halftime of the men's soccer game against Francis Marion, USCA saw off five of its graduating seniors as they end this chapter of their book and start a new one in their lives.
The men’s team lined up on both sides of the field and when the announcer called each of the senior’s names, the team congratulated each player that walked between them, slapping their hands to show how much each member of the team meant to each other.
The graduating seniors were Ricardo Pineda, Ranaldo Bailey, Kyllian Martin, Ricard Saintil and team captain Oliver Macallan who, even on crutches because of an injury to his knee, was smiling the whole time as he walked between the line of players he played with during his time at USCA.
Each senior can walk away proudly knowing that what they learned in school, and while playing on the field, will stay with them for a lifetime. Even though this chapter of their lives is coming to a close and a new one starting, one thing they can remember is that they will always be part of the Pacers.
After the game, team captain Oliver Macallan had this to say about one of his most memorable moments out on the field, and being in Aiken in general.
“The win over Young Harris, earlier in the year,” Macallan had said, “To win at home, 3-1 especially with the atmosphere we had in the stands.”
And when asked about his time in Aiken, he had this to say.
“Off the field, it’s the people,” he said, ”But meeting people from different backgrounds, on the team and off the team has been really fun.”
To these five players who came to USCA ready to challenge themselves both in the classroom and out on the field, congratulations and always remember the fun times you had here. Use the knowledge you gained to go out into the world and move forward with your life.
