WSOC: Pacers lose to Pembroke

The USC Aiken women’s soccer team lost their PBC opener to UNC Pembroke Wednesday evening 3-0.

This loss places the Pacers at 0-6 for the season and 0-1 in the league play.

The Pacers played as a team, talking to each other and passing the ball with aggressive determination, but also had to deal with injures and penalties that weren’t called during the game.

Willa Olson attempted a shot at the goal in the 11th minute of play but her shot sailed just wide of the frame. In the 11th minute, Marianne Ross also rocketed an attempt and also narrowly missed the goal.

Madi Banks played all 90 minutes between the pipes with six shots being stopped from going into the goal.

The Pacers accounted for seven attempts at the Braves' goal, with three hitting the frame.

The Pacers will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 5, when they play at Albany State at 7 p.m. in the next Peach Belt Conference.
