Leadership program to offer 'alternative' spring break

USC Aiken’s Leadership and Alternative Break Program will allow 15 students to “enhance their servant leadership skills” through course study and an alternative spring break to Orlando next semester, according to the official application for the program. 

The Orlando trip in 2020 will take place from March 9 until March 13. Students who apply and are accepted into the program will also have to take Servant Leadership & Alt. Break (ASUP 310: Give Kids the World) in the spring. 

Requirements for this program are listed on the official application and include a commitment to “enhance your leadership skills and possess the ability to provide manual labor for service hours,” the enrollment in the aforementioned class (ASUP 310), attendance of all Friday classes and service projects and maintaining a minimum of a 2.0 GPA. 

The application for the program is available in the Student Life Suite. The application due date is Friday Nov. 9.
