Sticker Recommendations for Bare Laptops
It has been a long time since my laptop was bare, like most students the real estate taken on my laptop signals what I like, what restaurants I go to, what bands I’m obsessed with, etc. My stickers are a way to accessorize a device that I must carry around every day. It is ridiculous, but so fun!
However, I am picky and have made an extra effort to curate what I stick on my laptop. Spring cleaning led me to remove the stickers that were merely “occupying space” and make room for the ones that brought me the most joy. The remaining champions are unique and artfully made and have received compliments and inquiries about where they came from. Since gatekeeping is the largest thief of joy, here are my sticker recommendations!
Haricot Vert: A brand that specializes in mixed media charm jewelry. Haricot Vert, French for Green Bean, uses pictographs to obtain their signature eclectic look. I received a necklace for my birthday that held a complimentary pack of pictograph stickers! The stickers ranged from fancy teacups to sunny-side-up eggs all derived from real photographs. These stickers are on the smaller side, so they are perfect for layering and scrapbooking! If you want to splurge on stickers, Haricot Vert has sticker packs available from $8-15.
New Moon Cafe: Aiken’s local bluegrass cafe carries a plethora of merch in addition to their amazing coffee! New Moon and Moon Beans have $1-3 stickers depending on size that you can slap on the back of your car or laptop, and they stay forever. My totaled Chevy Spark lost all its decorative stickers and magnets except for the “Coffee Snob” one. My current favorite sticker from New Moon is the Holographic man on the moon!
Ghost Cowboy Company: An online source for your chic cowboy sticker needs! Ghost Cowboy apparel is a cheeky spin on the microtrend “Coastal Cowboy”. Their stickers pop out to me due to their hand-drawn-esque designs. Three recommendations from the iconic selection that Ghost Cowboy has to offer are the fish sticker, the sardines sticker and the Cowboy Ghost Sticker. Each of these has a set price point of $5. The illustrator and owner of these designs can be found on Instagram: @evathefreakindiva
Sticky Fingers in the Wild: Not a brand, but a practice. If you are at a concert, gathering, or event and are lucky enough to come across a large bowl of stickers, take one! If someone offers you a sticker, keep it! The remaining stickers on my laptop are from campus events and businesses that have taken the time to set up shop in the Student Activity Center. You can find some of the most unique stickers just by keeping your eyes peeled.
I have given you the knowledge, now it is up to you to execute. If I see any more bare laptops on campus, I will know I have failed. Do yourself a favor and splice up your laptop, scrapbook or anything with a few stickers. Life can get mundane, you owe yourself simple insignificant joys, happy hunting!
