Album Review: "Endless Summer Vacation" by Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus dropped her new album “Endless Summer Vacation” on Mar. 10, 2023. Miley is known for changing her sound from album to album and has dabbled in country, pop, rap and rock music. Her last album “Plastic Hearts” really embraced her rock sound. This current album is a combination of her pop and rock sounds.
Some of my favorite songs from this album are “Jaded”, “Flowers” and “Muddy Feet (ft. Sia).
“Jaded” really encapsulates the raspy voice that fans of Miley have grown to love. She mixes her pop and rock genres so well within this song.
“I’m sorry that you’re jaded. I could’ve taken you places. You’re lonely now and I hate it. I’m sorry that you’re jaded”
“Flowers” was one of the singles that were released before the entire album, so it has grown in popularity across social media. This song is a play on “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars and a diss on Miley’s ex-husband Liam Hemsworth. This is a very empowering breakup song that inspires self-love and independence.
“I can buy myself flowers. Write my name in the sand. Talk to myself for hours. Say things you don’t understand. I can take myself dancing. And I can hold my own hand. Yeah, I can love me better than you can”
Another song I really enjoy on this album is “Muddy Feet”. This song has a very strong rock sound to it. “Muddy Feet” is a song about someone finding out their partner is being unfaithful. This song is so entertaining to listen to because it tells a story.
“You'vе watered the weeds and you killed all the roses. Worthy arrives when the other door closes (Uh-uh). So get the **** out of my house with that ****”
Overall, I really enjoy all of the songs on this album and highly recommend giving it a listen!
