Throwback Album Review: Dangerous by Michael Jackson
When Michael Jackson: The Experience was released in Nov. 2023 it was a hit in my household. The entire family would come out and play the Wii after dinner on the weekends and it was fun for everyone. Personally, my favorites were always “Remember The Time” and “In The Closet”.
Both songs are featured on his eighth studio album “Dangerous”, one of his best-selling of all time. This album sold five million copies worldwide in its first week and has since reached certified eight times platinum.
In my opinion, there are no bad songs featured on this album and I could see there being something for everyone. There’s iconic imagery across the board, the lyrics, the album cover and the music videos.
My number one pick of the album is #5 “Remember The Time”. Originally released as a single, the music was promoted as a “short film” due to its nine-minute length and premiered on multiple television stations.
Coming in hot at number two, as mentioned before, is “In The Closet”. The music video for this hit features Naomi Campbell as his love interest and it’s all about a secret love affair between the two. Fully believable for me at a young age.
Dangerous is debatably one of Michael Jackson’s best albums and proves this by offering listeners hit after hit.
