Tua Tagovailoa's Concussion
Tua Tagovailoa concussion opened the conversation about safety protocol for players.
On Sept. 29, Tagovailoa, QB for the Miami Dolphins, hit his head on the field from being tackled by Josh Tupou from the Cincinnati Bengals. Once hit, Tagovailoa's fingers and body went into “fencing response.”
Fencing response occurs when a person experiences an impact strong enough to cause traumatic brain injury like a concussion, and their arms go into an unnatural position.
ESPN stated that Tagovailoa was tested for a concussion four days before this occurred due to a similar incident, but the Dolphins decided to play him. With this decision, it could cost Tagovailoa to lose his career, or better yet his health.
In a recent update, his brother, Taulia Tagovailoa told reporters that Tau is doing good.
