Pacer Times seeking student opinions
Pacer Times is officially accepting submissions for opinion articles.
Do you have an opinion about something going on, on USC Aiken’s campus, in the news, or in popular culture? We would love to be able to work with you to get your opinion out to our readers on campus in the form of a guest article.
To publish your opinion piece, first and foremost, it has to be an opinion that you feel strongly enough to put your name on. As a news organization, Pacer Times believes in credibility. When it comes to opinions, publishing anonymously takes away from the validity of your piece.
If you feel comfortable and confident enough with your opinion, there are two ways to go about getting your article published.
If you have the opinion article already written, you can go ahead and email it to Paige Singer, our Opinions Editor, at prsinger@usca.edu.
If you have an idea but have not written the article yet and don’t want to write it until you know it will be published, you can email Paige with your idea for feedback.
From there, Paige will pitch your article idea to the rest of the staff, at which time you will be notified if Pacer Times decides to move forward with the article. At that point, if you don’t already have the article written, you would write it and email the finished piece to Paige, and from there it goes to editing and publishing.
We look forward to hearing from you, and can’t wait to publish your opinions!
