Feature: Corey Grant, hoping for a musical, kinder future
The fine arts program at USC Aiken has a litany of talented students, one of them being Corey Grant.
Grant is a junior music education major that plays clarinet in USC Aiken’s wind ensemble and sings tenor in the university concert choir.
Grant’s love for music has been with him since he was young, he explained. He has been playing clarinet for nine years and has been singing for 12 years.
If you’re ever walking around the Etheredge Center and hear a faint clarinet in one of the practice rooms, odds are, it’s Grant.
After graduating, Grant plans on pursuing a career as an elementary school music teacher. Similarly, Grant fell in love with the career aspirations after having an elementary school teacher as a professor for his course.
