Column: A mindful summer
Despite Covid-19, summer break was actually great.
While being quarantined, I took the time to focus on myself and lined up my goals for the fall 2020 semester. I also decided to take online classes in order to get ahead.
I was able to work my first job as a machine maintenance technician, where I learned a lot about computer servers as well as how to swap parts and diagnose issues with different machines.
My sister had her wedding, and I was asked to be her maid of honor. Helping her plan the wedding was like a full-time job, but it was an unforgettable experience.
I kept up with my flute lessons and made sure to practice at least once a week to keep myself performance-ready.
My dad did catch the virus and was bedridden for almost two months while he fought it off. That was extremely stressful for my family, but he did make a full recovery.
All in all, this summer was good for me as a person.
