Column: How to ruin Valentine's Day in one not-so-sweet step
Ruining Valentine’s Day can be so easy with just the wrong sweets. Here are the top five worst sweets to get your sweetheart this season.
Peep Marshmallow Hearts.
Peep never tasted good in my experiences, but some said that is their favorite candy for Easter. Peeps are pure sugar that often sticks in your teeth and might even give you a toothache. If you really want to give Peep Marshmallow as a gift at least wait until Easter because that when they look cute-- that at least makes up for the taste.
2. Chocolate boxes from the grocery stores
This is a big NO for me. This type of chocolate you can find them anywhere like at Walmart, Kroger’s or BI-LO during Valentine’s day. They often come in a heart-shaped box filled with multiple flavors, and they taste like fake chocolate. Do NOT recommend.
3. Valentine’s Day candy Corn
Halloween candy corn is my favorite. They are the perfect match for the season. But for Valentine’s candy? It doesn’t go well together, almost like enemies. They taste like food coloring and it comes with diabetes. Just kidding…
4. Conversation hearts
Conversation hearts are popular among Valentines’ candies and yes, they say “I love you,” “be mine.” But they just taste straight-up awful.
Plus, a single conversation heart contains 14 grams of sugar. Instead of wasting your money on these you should invest in some healthy dark chocolate and write a cute note for your sweetheart instead.
5. Chocolate roses
Another form of fake chocolate. They look horrible and taste horrible. They can be cute, but there are way better options for Valentine's candies. If anything, a girl or guy would prefer fresh flowers.
