University's skateboarding, biking policy offers scooter alternative

With questions regarding the Spin Scooters circulating on campus, students have inquired about USC Aiken’s policy for other modes of transportation.

Though the Convocation Center has a strict no skateboarding and rollerblading policy, Vice Chancellor Ahmed Samaha said that he is not aware of a policy that prohibits students from bringing their skateboards or bikes on campus.

“I have reviewed our policies and I don’t see anything about bikes or skateboards,” he wrote in an email correspondence.

This is an alternative for students who do not want to pay for the Spin scooters on campus, but still would like to travel quickly between classes.
