Pacer Times takes home 5 awards from South Carolina Press Association

Pacer Times won five awards from the South Carolina Press Association, which were announced at their annual event on Saturday, April 6, in Columbia.

Amber Perry, who graduated in Spring of 2018 with a Bachelor’s in Communication, won first place in the Feature Story category for her article on the Public Advocacy class taught by Dr. Jason Munsell. She also took third place in the Arts and Entertainment category for an article on the Augusta live music scene.

News Editor Angelika Davis won third place in the News Story category for her article about security cameras on campus. She is a senior education major and will graduate this May.

Editor-in-Chief Cecilia Maddox took home second place in the News Writing category for her article on campus parking problems, as well as second place in the Column Writing category for her opinions article on modern sexism. She is a senior fine arts major with a concentration in classical voice and a minor in communication.
