Bompieri surpasses women's singles record

The women’s tennis team battled on the back court last Thursday, April 11, against Young Harris, finishing with a 7-0 win in the league contest.

For doubles the squad picked up the points, partnering Victoria Giannaccini and Alice Neves, who registered a 6-1 win at No. 2.

Karina Blas and Edith Croda used this time to practice as they did not have an opponent to face. This gave them the win and placed them at No. 3 for the day’s doubles.

Elena Bompieri had much to celebrate, as she shattered the school record with her 13th win at No. 1 in women’s singles this season, with a registered victory of scores 6-4, 6-4.

Teresa Franco Dias earned the No. 2 spot with a 6-4, 6-2 victory against her opponent.

The Pacers continued their winning streak with Croda getting No. 3 with scores of 2-6, 6-1, 10-8.

Blas finished undefeated by winning No. 4 in singles with scores 6-2, 6-1.

The rest of Head coach Steve Dahm’s team would win by default as there were no players to play against.
